When You Think You No Longer Know What You Want…

October 4, 2022 by Dror Allouche Leave a Comment

“I don’t know what I want anymore.”

Are you sure?

School, marriage, children, work, career…
It’s all written into our cultural script.

But somewhere along the line, the machine jammed. Something went wrong, or you just got to the end of the script.

And then…nothing

So no, you’re not unmotivated.
No, you’re not in burnout.
You’re (just) at the end of the story we wrote for you.

“Midlife crisis happens when the cultural scripts end but we fail to write a new story for ourselves”
—Donald Miller

But what should I do?

This is exactly the question you need to address. And the one that will make you want to get up early and devour life.

How do you do it?

There are dozens of techniques to do it. Writing, making a mindmap of your life, walking in nature, going on vacation, doing sports, meeting a coach…

But they all have one thing in common.
Take time for yourself and reflect on what you really want.

This forced reflection (the end of the script) will help you find clarity and excitement for your next adventure.

Go ahead and think about your most beautiful project. Your life.

Once you start, you won’t stop.
