Want To Make Better Decisions? What If The Answer Wasn’t A New App, But A Good Night’s Sleep

September 2, 2024 by Dror Allouche Leave a Comment

We often think the best decisions come from a new tool or revolutionary method. Sometimes that’s true, but no tool replaces a clear and rested mind.

Studies show a direct link between lack of sleep and poor decision-making:

→42% less cognitive flexibility
→30% more impulsivity
→29% less accuracy in risk assessment

What if the solution was simpler? Sleep better to be:

→More focused
→More decisive
→More clear-headed

Want to make better decisions? What if the answer wasn’t a new app, but a good night’s sleep?

Ready to try? 5 steps for better sleep:

→Decide.
Go to bed earlier. It’s tough, but it starts with a firm decision. Write down your reasons and reread them when you hesitate.

What finally convinced me? a book

Check out my Resource Guide: The 11 books that have most influenced my career. (Including my favorite of all categories)

→Organize.
Integrate this new habit into your existing routine. For me, it’s after the kids’ bedtime routine.

→Make it enjoyable.
I read interesting books to make me want to go to bed.
What attracts you?

→Create ideal conditions.
I’ve banished all light from my bedroom. Find what is important for you.

→Persevere.
Failure is part of the process. Don’t get discouraged, just do better tomorrow.

Good habits are less sexy than new tools, but often more effective. 😉

Do you want to achieve more? Sleep better.

See you soon.
