The Two Types of Successful People: Which One Are You?

April 8, 2023 by Dror Allouche Leave a Comment

In my job, I have the chance to meet many successful people.

They use more or less the same method, but their success has a different flavor.

The first category has had emotional, relational, and sometimes physical pain on the road. They run after the next success by giving the impression of being tense.

The second category is enjoying the fruits of their success in a good shape and with the people they love. They are still chasing the next dream but convey a sense of serenity. They give the impression of having all the time they need to live their present and realize their future.

Check out my Resource Guide: The 11 books that have most influenced my career. (Including my favorite of all categories)

The pattern for both categories is often the same :

  • A goal
  • A duration of time
  • A way to measure oneself.

The difference is in the distinctions.

The second category (Ambitious 2.0) tends to :

  • Allow themselves more time and break it down into iterations. (even though they often reach their dreams faster in the end). 25, 10, and 5 years become 100 quarters/40 quarters/20 quarters
  • Focus on practice. Practice becomes their goal. It allows them to enjoy the moment.
  • Focus on their progress rather than on the outcome. They create a virtuous circle that enhances their appreciation of the moment.

Minor distinctions create significant gaps along the way.

The good news is it’s always possible to start changing how we do it.

PS: Whenever you are ready, here are 2 more ways I can help you accelerate your growth through coaching:

  • You are an individual: you have a penchant for action. You’ve achieved a lot. And yet you want more. Curious? Let’s connect for a free call and see if we can work together
  • You want to be coached in the workplace: I help successful leaders become even better. And you only pay me if you succeed (yes, I am serious). Curious? Let’s connect for a free call and see if we can work together
