Ambitious leaders are constantly looking for ways to balance work and life.
But rarely do they succeed.
Here is why.
There are two types of ambitious people. And the difference between them in quality of life is enormous.
But first, let’s look at what they have in common:
- They want 10X their career or their business
- They understand that their well-being and the well-being of their loved ones are essential.
But here are the differences:
Ambitious 1.0
- He takes a break to walk and wonders if he should have moved on with the week’s sales analysis
- He’s playing with his daughter and thinks, “I could have finished preparing my meeting for tomorrow.”
- He is on a weekend with his family and uses a quiet moment to catch up on his emails. “Not a big deal, we don’t do anything.”
Ambitious 2.0
He does the same activities but puts all his attention on the present moment.
- While walking, he takes advantage of a ray of sunshine to stop and enjoy it
- He immerses himself in the imaginary game with his daughter and forgets all notion of time.
- He appreciates the quiet moments of the weekend with his family. People who love us need to be with us even if we do nothing.
In the end, professionally, both are successful (except when the ambitious 1.0 burns out).
But then, what is the benefit?
Ambitious 2.0 thrives while enjoying every moment.
“I have all the time I need to achieve everything important.”
The people around him feel it. He builds strong relationships in his personal and professional world.
It’s not what you do but how you do it that makes the difference.
