It’s more difficult to follow through with our goals than to set them. How I use the weekly review?

April 18, 2021 by Dror Allouche Leave a Comment

Nearly everyone makes their resolutions, but we rarely follow through.😉
And that’s one of the reasons why we often fail. It shouldn’t be that difficult. What we need is a good process, and the weekly review is a great one. After more than 20 years of goal setting, I have tested many. Here how I use the weekly review?

I set my goals with the life plan methodology and I follow up on my goals during the weekly review.

  • I summarize my main goal in a digital note (Evernote).
    • Every time at the end of the week during my «weekly review», I follow this routine:
      • Open the note containing my goals.
      • Read it.
      • Write what I have done during this week to achieve my goal.
      • Decide what I’ll do next week to keep the ball running.
      • Plan it on my schedule for the next week.

Doing this simple process ensures that:

  • I don’t forget.
  • I don’t get completely off the road.
  • I can quickly correct mistakes.

It’s simple. It takes max 15 minutes for the goals part. Whatever your system is, be sure that you have one. The process is as necessary as defining the goals. Take a few minutes to build your follow-up system.
