It’s happened to all of us.
You are taking a walk in the fresh air. The weather is nice, the birds are singing, the landscape is beautiful.
Suddenly an idea crosses your mind. A desire to write, draw, play music, improve something in your work, or start a new business.
You are all excited. The ideas are flowing.
But here’s the problem.
You come home, open your email. Work is getting to you.
After a long day, you feel tired. What if I went back to work on my idea.
The problem? It’s bland and you don’t believe in it anymore. You wonder why you were even interested before.
What’s changed?
The idea is the same. Its potential hasn’t changed.
What has changed is your condition. You have gone from constructing to destroying.
How did you do that?
When the idea came up, your environment was appropriate; you were relaxed. That’s when creativity feels best. It blooms and grows.
When you try to take back your idea, you are in a state of stress, fear, anxiety.
The problems and constraints of the day have piled up and your little voice has gotten into the game.
“This can’t be happening.”
“This isn’t interesting.”
“You can’t do it. “
All those nice things she’s so good at reminding us of.
How to develop your creativity?
- Write down the idea as soon as it comes up. With over 2 hours of consummation a day, your phone is never far away. No? 🙂
- Use it wisely. Open an application where you can start recording vocally or writing a few lines. (I use Drafts.)
- Scribble down a few points related to the idea. Why it inspires you, the objective, possible actions.
- If possible, start working on it. Once you get it in, open a note and refine your points. (I use Mind Mapping)
- If you don’t have the opportunity to work on it, save the note in a place where you can find it easily. Be sure to reopen it when you are in a state of construction. Like after a run, a walk, a mediation session, a nice cold shower…
That was the case for this little morning note. The idea came to me in the shower and I wrote this text right after.
