How to develop the habit of believing in yourself.

December 5, 2020 by Dror Allouche Leave a Comment

When you start a project close to your heart, on top of keeping the primary key success factors such as:

  • Seeing the big picture
  • Quality of execution
  • Consistency
  • Managing expectations

You need to believe in yourself. To be your first fan. To mentally see the positive end.

Magic is believing in yourself. If you can do that, you can make anything happen. —JOHANN WOLFGANG

Having that in mind helps you to overcome the daily difficulties on your way to your goal.

It’s like:

  • A boxer who dreams of being the world champion.
  • A language learner that imagines speaking fluently with their neighbors.
  • A musician who sees himself playing in front of a big audience.
  • A runner who sees himself from day one crossing the finish line of his next marathon.
  • A writer that imagines his books in all the public library

How to develop the habit of believing in yourself?

A simple habit for reinforcing it, is creating a dedicated time where you intentionally review the positive end in your head. It will help you to overcome the difficulties you encounter during the project.

I have practiced it for years. It’s part of my quiet time in my daily morning routine, where I focus on breathing and reviewing my personal project movie. It takes me 15 minutes maximum, and it helps me tremendously. On top of it, I take pleasure in doing it.

Success is less important as you enjoy the sensation of your mental review everyday. By working on the quality of your execution, you progress on your target. And at the end, progression is the key.

Enjoy your progress.
