“In the world of dieting, losing twenty pounds is a goal, but eating right is a system.”
“In the exercise realm, running a marathon in under four hours is a goal, but exercising daily is a system”.
When I read that in Scott Adams book “How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the Story of My Life », it resonated with me. (you can find the full summary here).
How do you create a system instead of goals?

Applying discipline as a system to succeed.
This speaks to daily practice, even small ones. Doing gives the first good feeling. And pursuing day by day produces the compound effect.
( See How do you start doing the things you want to do?)
Think a lot about what you really want « be healthy ».
Think a lot of how you will do it « eat right » (your system).
Stop thinking and start acting every day on « eating right ».
When you miss once, restart at the next meal. Until it becomes such a strong habit that the system wins each time.
Enjoy the journey
