Discipline: is it really a choice?

May 3, 2021 by Dror Allouche Leave a Comment

In this blog, I often exchange ideas about the advantages of being disciplined :

  • The compound effect.
  • The long-term results.
  • The learning you get.
  • The clarity you get.
  • The new projects you can start.

But let’s think on the contrary, how our lives could be if we had no discipline.

We are a family of four. I’m always impressed by all the garbage we produce. Let’s imagine for one second that we did not have enough discipline to take out the trash. How our house would look in one month? A disaster.

Discipline, or the lack of it, compounds on both sides. A life without discipline leads to mental, physical, and emotional fatigue.

Let’s be intentional, choose what we want to do (a set of good habits), apply discipline, and enjoy the positive results.
