Limiting beliefs creep into our minds and take root:
- I’m a bad presenter.
- Soft skills cannot be improved.
- I already know…
The more they take hold, the stronger they become without us realizing it.
Destroy your limiting beliefs and boost your success: 3 keys to sustainable transformation
1/ Reflecting on our limiting beliefs: Is our reality the actual reality?
I’ve just finished my presentation, and it wasn’t the best.
My message didn’t have the desired effect.
Our natural tendency.
“I’m a bad presenter. I’ll never convince anyone…”
How can we reverse this trend?
- Raising awareness: how can I interpret the situation in a different way?
- Questionning the negativity: how can I view this experience neutrally or positively?
- Reframing the limiting belief: is it really true? Have I ever given a presentation that had an impact in the past?
It’s not what happens to us, but how we interpret it that shapes our success.
Next time it occurs…
Let’s challenge our false beliefs by asking interesting questions.
An article to tackle the trap that our strengths can sometimes develop…
2/ We always have a choice: “I already know”.
Choose our beliefs to become a better listener.
Better communication means better listening.
We all know it, but it’s often hard.
Deciding to change is sometimes not enough.
When this is the case, revisiting our limiting beliefs can make all the difference.
( see Darren J.Gold’s example below)
Passive limiting beliefs block us.
Active beliefs support us.

3/ Deliberate practice: The road to success
Most people think we can’t improve our interpersonal skills…
This is not true.
Let’s take an example:
- I want to become a better listener (we can all improve in this area😀).
Let’s combine a few criteria:
- Start my meetings by focusing on the questions.
- Ask my team for their opinion before giving mine.
- Replace a tip with a question.
Let’s evaluate ourselves at the end of the day:
You can download a simple but effective tool to do this here….
- Have I done my best to listen better today?
- Answer 0 to 10
- Let’s review our weekly average and adjust our intentions for the week ahead.
Let’s stop making excuses. We can improve everything, even our soft skills…
Towards a sustainable transformation
It’s not what happens to us, but how we interpret it that shapes our success.
